ELIGIBILITY

  1. Open to male and female individuals, 18 years of age and above, with Filipino heritage, and a permanent resident of the Philippines.
  2. This fashion design contest is open to all students of fashion, arts, and design, fashion design practitioners, and fashion design enthusiasts alike. In the case of fashion, arts, and design students, a copy of the valid student identity card must be submitted together with the application form.
  3. No prior endorsements from any competing telecommunications brand and other online retail industry platform operating in the Philippines.
  4. No prior record of public misdemeanor.
  5. Employees of Globe Telecom, Saga Events. Inc., Fashion Design Trade & Exhibition (FEI), and ZALORA Philippines (BF Jade E-Services Philippines Inc.) and its affiliates including their relatives up to second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining the contest.
  6. Applicants must agree to the Terms and Conditions as part of the application process, which includes a confirmation that applicant has carefully read these Contest Mechanics, that applicant complies with the eligibility terms, and that applicant agrees that his/her application may be subjected to eligibility validation by the Organizers.
  7. Any misrepresentation, untruthful declaration, fabricated or falsified submission in relation to eligibility, once proven, can be grounds for disqualification.

 

FORMAT

  1. The stylefestph Designer Mentorship Program (the “Program”) is a design and entrepreneurial project as part of stylefestph event to be held from September 7 to 9, 2018 (the “Event”), created and organized by Globe Telecom, Inc. and Saga Events, Inc. (the “Organizers”). Its purpose is to make the design and business know-how of fashion, beauty, and retail industry experts available to assist fashion designers with their design and entrepreneurial projects.
  2. The mentors and judges are composed of renowned local fashion, beauty, and retail experts. They will collectively be dubbed the “stylecouncil”.
  3. All completed application forms with its corresponding Capsule Collections (the “Entry” or “Entries”) will be reviewed by the stylecouncil on the basis of quantitative criteria of creativity and originality, overall theme and cohesiveness, technical construction and craftsmanship, and retail marketability.
  4. No registration fees are required to apply and join the Program.

  6. Submission of Entries will be from April 24, 2018 at 1:00pm until May 8, 2018 at 6:00pm at Globe Telecom 17F North Wing, The Globe Tower, 32nd Street corner 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. 1634.”
  7. On May 14, 2018, the stylecouncil will conduct deliberations to shortlist the Entries down to sixteen (16) applicants. The deliberations will be held from 10:00am to 6:00pm at B1 The Globe Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
  8. After deliberations, the Organizers will contact the sixteen (16) shortlisted applicants via SMS, telephone call, email, and registered mail for a final callback.
  9. Shortlisted applicants must personally be present on the scheduled final callback, with proof of notice given to them on the final callback, and proof of their identification.
  10. After submitting their respective signed conforme document, these sixteen (16) shortlisted applicants (the “Finalists”) will be attending an orientation for Finalists.
  11. Each Finalist will be given a working budget of two thousand pesos (P2,000.00) after the orientation. This working budget will be used for the creation of one complete sample set from the ten (10) sketches they submitted during the preliminaries. Finalists cannot spend beyond this working budget. The Organizers will check this against the required submission of complete original receipts.
  12. The Finalists will present to the stylecouncil on May 24, 2018 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at B1 The Globe Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Each Finalist will present their one (1) complete sample along with the ten (10) sketches they submitted during the preliminaries. If the Finalist is not present on his/her scheduled slot, this automatically disqualifies him/her from the Program.
  13. Immediately after the presentation, the stylecouncil will deliberate and decide who will be the eight (8) winners of the Program.
  14. The Organizers will announce the final list of Winners on May 25, 2018 at 7:00pm at B1 The Globe Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
  15. The number of Winners per Category are as follows:
    1. Category 1 – Emerging Designers for ZALORA Philippines
      1. Five (5) winners
    2. Category 2 – The Future of Design Featuring 0917 Lifestyle Brand
      1. Three (3) winners

 

HOW TO JOIN

    1. STEP 1: Go to stylefest.ph
    2. STEP 2: Download the stylefestph Designer Mentorship Program and print application form with the following details:

STEP 3: Along with the completed application form, include your capsule collection that defines the new Street Style (10 sketches total) ***Capsule collection is defined as a capsule wardrobe that features only the most essential or influential pieces from a collection. A capsule collection is essentially a condensed version of a designer’s vision, often limited edition, which transcends seasons and trends by being functional and commercial. Focusing on construction and delivering key looks.All portfolio, sketches, designs, capsule collection must be original and has not yet been used to join in another contest.Each applicant may submit only one Capsule Collection.
      1. Five (5) proposed Street Style designs for possible distribution by ZALORA Philippines
      2. Five (5) proposed Street Style designs for the 0917 Lifestyle Brand.
      3. Each sketch must be on an A4 sized paper (A4 sized paper must be white and sketch in full color)
      4. On each page, feature the following:
        1. Proposed Design – sketch
        2. Proposed swatch of fabric per piece – minimum size of each swatch is 3” x 3”
        3. Proper legend for quick reference
        4. Descriptions and notations to help walk the judges through with each design you envision
        5. If handwritten, please use legible handwriting
        6. Bottom of each page, please label accordingly:
          1. My take on the new Street Style for possible distribution by ZALORA Philippines (Design [state number])
          2. My take on the new Street Style featuring 0917 (Design [state number])
      5. Collate in proper packaging and label each category separately (no need to try to bind it)

        NOTE:
        All expenses in relation to the application process, such as postal fees, shall be borne by the applicant.

 

  1. For Finalists and Winners from Visayas and Mindanao, the Organizers will shoulder the costs of travel fare and accommodations during the dates that Finalists and Winners are required to be in Manila for the Program, as determined by the Organizers.
  2. Only Entries received from April 24, 2018 at 1:00pm to May 8, 2018 at 6:00pm at Globe Telecom 17/F North Wing The Globe Tower 32nd Street corner 7th Avenue Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City 1634 will be qualified for the preliminary screening or preliminaries.
  3. All physical submissions for the Entry automatically becomes the property of Organizers.
  4. Organizers will not produce, duplicate, replicate, nor disseminate the designs, sketches, mood board, and swatches submitted in the Capsule Collection, except for the purpose of promoting the Program through means such as but not limited to promotional videos, behind-the-scenes footages and photographs.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. Entries submitted from April 24, 2018 at 1:00pm to May 8, 2018 at 6:00pm at Globe Telecom, 17/F North Wing, The Globe Tower, 32nd Street corner 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City 1634 must be complete. Incomplete Entries will result in automatic disqualification.
  2. Before an applicant can advance as a Finalist, he/she will be required to submit a signed conforme or such other legal document that Organizers may require for purposes such as the efficient and effective implementation of the Program.
  3. All applicants, Finalists, and Winners are required to meet their applicable deadlines, such as deadline for submission of Entries for applicants. Late submissions will not be accepted and the applicant, Finalist, or Winner, as applicable, will be disqualified.
  4. All Finalists are required to attend all meetings, press interviews, and photo sessions with both local and international media representatives arranged by the Organizers.
  5. The Finalists’ Entry, photos, and basic personal information such as name and age, will be used by the Organizers for the promotions of the Program.
  6. Entries, photographs, and any other material by applicant in relation to the Program, must not contain:
    1. Obscene, pornographic, or sexually-explicit content or information.
    2. Content that is considered offensive to the users, such as those which encourage the commission of an illegal, immoral or threatening activity, promote harassment, racism, hatred or discrimination against any group or individual, or provide information which you know are false, misleading, or harmful to any group or individual.
    3. Content which shows strong support or opposition to any political or religious group or person.
    4. Content which are defamatory or libelous in character or those which violate the privacy of any group or individual.
    5. Content which infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, publication right, or any other intellectual property or proprietary right, or those which promote the infringement of any party’s intellectual property rights.
  7. The Organizers reserve the right to reject without need of explanation, Entries that it deems or finds, in its sole discretion, to be in violation of any of their policies or the terms and conditions in these Mechanics in concurrence with DTI. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website used for the Program, or undermine the legitimate operation of the Program, may be considered a violation of criminal and civil laws. The Organizers reserve the right to seek damages to the fullest extent allowed by laws against such person/s.

 

JUDGING CRITERIA

SELECTION OF 16 FINALISTS DURING PRELIMINARIES

All Entries will be judged based on completeness of items submitted, Capsule Collection, and the criteria detailed below, to determine the sixteen (16) shortlisted applicants or Finalists. The Entries will be judged by the stylecouncil in the presence of a Department of Trade and Industry (“DTI”) representative on May 14, 2018, from 3:00PM to 6:00pm, at B1 The Globe Telecom Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

SELECTION OF EIGHT (8) WINNERS

All 16 Finalists will pitch to the stylecouncil with one finished full sample from the ten (10) sketches he/she submitted with his/her application, on May 24, 2018, 3:00pm, at B1 The Globe Telecom Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The pitch will be judged by the stylecouncil in the presence of a DTI representative, based on the same criteria stated above to determine the eight (8) winners.

 

CLAIMING OF PRIZES

  1. The prize may be claimed at The Grand Ballroom of Grand Hyatt Manila on September 8, 2018.
  2. All non-cash prizes are not transferable and not convertible to cash.
  3. 20% prize tax will be shouldered by the Organizers.

As an applicant for the stylefestph Designer Mentorship Program (the “Program”) of Globe Telecom, Inc. and Saga Events, Inc. (the “Organizers”) which will culminate with a fashion show by the Winners at the Grand Hyatt Bonifacio Global City scheduled on September 8, 2018 during the stylefestph event (the “Event”), you warrant that you have carefully read, and agree without reservations to, the Mechanics of the Program and the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Warranties

You represent and warrant that:

1.1 you are18 years of age and above, with Filipino heritage, and a permanent resident of the Philippines;

1.2 all information provided in your application form is true and correct;

1.3 you are submitting only one application form and Capsule Collection (the “Entry”) for the Program;

1.4 all designs, sketches, descriptions, specifications, or such other works that you submit together with your completed application form as required under the Mechanics (the “Capsule Collection”) are solely created, designed, crafted, and produced by you, and these have not been used to join in another contest;

1.5 you are the sole owner with full legal rights, title, and interests over the Capsule Collection composed of all your original works, and you have not in any way assigned, licensed, disposed of, encumbered in favor third parties, or otherwise done any act or omission that dilutes or jeopardizes these rights;

1.6 any use of the Capsule Collection does not violate or infringe upon any privacy rights, intellectual property rights, contract rights, and any other rights of third parties; and

1.7 to the best of your knowledge, at the time of submission and thereafter of the Capsule Collection or any part thereof, these submissions are not in production, for sale, or being marketed for sale in any jurisdiction.

2. Grounds for Disqualification

Entries received after the deadline will no longer be accepted.  Entries that are incomplete shall be automatically disqualified.

Entries that include content or information that are false, misleading, harmful, obscene, pornographic, sexually-explicit, defamatory or libelous in character, offensive, encourages commission of an illegal, immoral, or threatening activity, promotes harassment, racism, hatred, discrimination against any group or individual, cultural appropriation, or shows support or opposition to any political or religious group or person, shall be disqualified.

If you advance as one of the Finalists, the full sample you present to the stylecouncil during the pitch proceedings should follow the design and/or specifications outlined in your submitted Capsule Collection. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

At any stage of the Program, even after the announcement of Winners or thereafter, the Organizers reserve the right to disqualify or revoke Winner status, if you breach any of the representations, warranties, and obligations herein; willingly and knowingly provided information that is false, misleading, inaccurate in your application form or any communication or correspondence for the Program; solicit, request, and do any act that results in pressuring the stylecouncil for preferential treatment; or display undesirable behavior such as but not limited to, being rude, uncivil, abusive, vulgar, harassing, threatening, insulting, or cheating.

3. Stages of the Program

Applicants

You agree to assume the full risk and costs associated with your application for the Program including but not limited to, transportation costs, shipping costs, postal charges, courier charges, insurance costs, government approvals, licenses, and all other such costs in relation to your application for the Program.

You agree that all the physical submissions for the Entry provided to the Organizers will no longer be returned. Notwithstanding, any unexpected or unrequested shipments, such as non-required or excessive samples, will be disposed of within 24 hours from receipt without obligation to inform you of its status.

You agree that in the course of examining your Entry, the Organizers reserve the right to require the submission of further information or documents necessary for the proper assessment of your Entry, such as, eligibility validation.

You acknowledge and agree that all decisions by the stylecouncil, as the sole judge of the Program from preliminaries until selection of winners, are final and not subject to appeal. The deliberations and discussions of the stylecouncil are confidential and will not be made public.  The stylecouncil will deliberate and decide based on the Judging Criteria provided in the Mechanics of the Program, and has no obligation to justify or explain its final decisions. The Organizers shall notify you if you advance as one of the finalists, otherwise, notice may no longer be given to unsuccessful applicants.

Finalists

You agree not to announce your Finalist status before the official announcement is made, otherwise, Organizers reserve the right to revoke your Finalist status.

In the event that a Finalist withdraws from the Program based on reasonable grounds as determined by Organizers, prior notice of not less than five (5) days from effectivity must be given to the Organizers, and the Organizers reserve the right to replace the vacated spot. The stylecouncil may select an alternate potential finalist from all of the remaining applications using the Judging Criteria in the Mechanics. Notwithstanding any withdrawal, the grant of rights and licenses herein shall remain in force.

You agree not to take any videos and photographs, nor post on social media, any video, photograph, material, image, text or otherwise, of the pitch proceedings, the course of the mentorship and the duration of the Program, without the prior written approval of the Organizers.

You agree that your Capsule Collection cannot be used in another contest for a period of twelve (12) months following the fashion show.

Winners

Winners of Category 1 grant FEI and ZALORA Philippines the right to use, manufacture, and distribute the Winning Collections on zalora.com.ph, while Winners of Category 2 grant 0917 Lifestyle the right to use and manufacture the Winning Collections.  Winners further agree that they cannot manufacture their Winning Collection on their own without the written consent of FEI and ZALORA Philippines for Winners of Category 1, and 0917 Lifestyle for Winners of Category 2.

You agree not to announce your winner status before the official announcement is made, otherwise, Organizers reserves the right to revoke your winner status.

4. Grant of Rights and Licenses

You grant the Organizers the right to exclusive use, sublicense, duplicate, replicate, and/or disseminate the Capsule Collection, free of any fee, and without need of prior notice, for promotional and publicity purposes of the Program, through any and all means, and in any and all platforms including but not limited to, broadcast media, exhibit, print or internet, with appropriate credit or attribution of creation to applicant.  For the avoidance of doubt, all designs, sketches, samples, presentations, descriptions, diagrams, specifications, collections, and such other works which were developed or created during the course of and in relation to the Program are for the exclusive use of the Organizers worldwide, in any manner or media now known or hereinafter devised, without compensation, with appropriate credit or attribution of creation to applicant, for the duration of the Program. Thus, these cannot be exhibited or published without prior consent of the Organizers.

You grant permission to the Organizers, its agents and authorized representatives, to take videos and photographs containing your image and likeness in relation to the Program.  You agree that the Organizers have full use of these materials for promotional, publicity, research, and educational purposes, free of any fee, and without need of prior notice.  You release and hold free and harmless the Organizers, its agents and authorized representatives, from any and all claims or causes of action by reason of the use of your image and likeness.

5. Liabilities and Remedies

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold free and harmless the Organizers, its subsidiaries, affiliates, stockholders, officers, employees, and agents, from and against any and all suits, causes, claims, damages, losses, expenses (including reasonable legal fees) or causes of action from third parties arising from or in connection with your Capsule Collection, application, and participation in the Program.

You further agree that in no event will the Organizers be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages of whatever kind and nature, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. Data Privacy

Please note that it is mandatory for you to provide the personal information marked with (*) in the application form.  In the event that you do not provide such personal information, the Organizers may not be able to process your application.

The personal information provided will be used for the purpose of your application to the Program, statistical, analytical, and research purposes such as to further improve the Program, compliance with safety, security, public service or legal requirements and process, and other purposes such as to enhance Globe customer experience and communicate relevant services and/or advisories to you.  It will be handled and processed by the Organizers only. The personal information collected will not be disclosed or transferred to third parties without your prior consent.

The physical application forms of unsuccessful applicants will be immediately disposed of while the application forms of successful applicants will form part of the Event database of the Organizers.

In accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, applicants have the right to access and to make corrections to the personal information in their application, and the right to request a copy of their personal information. Written requests may be made to the designated point person by the Organizers.

By signing your name & signature to these Terms and Conditions, you agree for the Organizers to collect and process your information in accordance with this section.

7. Confidentiality

In order to preserve the integrity of the Program, you agree to keep your entry confidential, and will not disclose or communicate to any third party any data or information received or to be received from the Organizers in the course of and in connection with the Program.
