Designer Mentorship Program Contest Mechanics


  1. Open to individuals, 18 years of age and above, with Filipino heritage, and a permanent resident of the Philippines. Applicants must submit proof of age and residence.
  2. This design contest is open to everyone who is into fashion, such as but not limited to: fashion design practitioners, and fashion design enthusiasts.
  3. No prior endorsements from any competing telecommunications brand and other online retail, make-up, and hair industry platform operating in the Philippines.
  4. No prior record of public misdemeanor.
  5. Employees of Globe Telecom, Saga Events. Inc., Zalora Philippines, and its affiliates including their relatives up to second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining the contest.
  6. Applicants must agree to the Terms and Conditions as part of the application process, which includes a confirmation that the applicant has carefully read these Contest Mechanics; that applicant complies with the eligibility terms; and that applicant agrees that his/her application may be subjected to eligibility validation by the Organizers.
  7. Any misrepresentation, untruthful declaration, fabricated or falsified submission in relation to eligibility, once proven, can be grounds for disqualification.


  1. The stylefestph 2019 Design Mentorship Program (the “Program”) is a design and entrepreneurial project as part of stylefestph event to be held from November 4 – 7, 2019 (the “Event”), created and organized by Globe Telecom, Inc. and Saga Events, Inc.(the “Organizers”). Its purpose is to make the creative direction and business know-how of fashion, digital platform opportunities, and retail industry experts available to assist fashion designers with their design and entrepreneurial projects.
  2. Collectively dubbed as the “stylecouncil”, the mentors and judges are composed of renowned local fashion and retail experts
  3. All completed application forms with its corresponding Curated Design Portfolios featuring ready-to-wear (RTW) and streetstyle with integration of fashion and technology (the “Entry” or “Entries”) will be reviewed by the stylecouncil on the basis of quantitative criteria of creativity and originality, overall theme and cohesiveness of the collection, technical construction and craftsmanship, and retail marketability.
  4. No registration fees are required to apply and join the Program.

  6. Submission of Entries will be from 1:00PM of June 24 up to 11:59PM of July 19, 2019 , at
  7. On July 24, 2019, the stylecouncil will conduct deliberations to select the sixteen (16) semi-finalists.
  8. The deliberations will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on July 24, 2019* at B1 The Globe Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
  9. The sixteen (16) semi-finalists will be announced via SMS, telephone call, & email.
  10. The sixteen (16) semi-finalists will present one (1) actual sewn garment (from their portfolio) to be presented to the stylecouncil.
    • The presentation will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on July 31 at B1 The Globe Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
    • After deliberations, the Organizers will choose and announce the eight (8) finalists on the same day.
  11. Finalists must personally be present on the scheduled final callback, with proof of notice given to them on the final callback, and proof of their identification.
  12. After submitting their respective signed conforme document, these eight (8) finalists will be attending an orientation to kick off the designer mentorship program.

      1. maximum 200MB mp4 file
      2. Maximum of 90 seconds, broken down into:
        • 45 seconds to provide a background on your design aesthetic. It is like an advertisement of your design and may be used as part of promotional purposes by the creators of stylefestph.
        • 45 seconds to introduce yourself. This is your profile details, CV, etc.

      Your design portfolio and video reel may be used as part of promotional purposes by the creators of stylefestph and may be shared to press members, upon their request.

For Winners from Visayas and Mindanao, the participants will shoulder the costs of travel fare and accommodations during the dates that Winners are required to be in Manila for the Program, as determined by the Organizers. Only Entries received from June 24 until July 19 11:59PM via will be qualified for the judging. Organizers will not produce, duplicate, replicate, nor disseminate the designs, sketches, mood board, and swatches submitted in the design portfolio, except for the purpose of promoting the Program through means such as but not limited to promotional videos, behind-the-scenes footages and photographs.

  1. Entries submitted from June 24 until July 19 11:59PM. via must be complete. Incomplete Entries will result in automatic disqualification.
  2. Before an applicant can advance as a finalist, he/she will be required to submit a signed conforme or such other legal document that Organizers may require for purposes such as the efficient and effective implementation of the Program.
  3. All applicants, finalists are required to meet their applicable deadlines, such as deadline for submission of Entries for applicants. Late submissions will not be accepted and the applicant or finalist, as applicable, will be disqualified.
  4. All Finalists are required to attend all meetings, press interviews, and photo sessions with both local and international media representatives arranged by the Organizers.
  5. The Finalists’ Entry, photos, and basic personal information such as name and age, will be used by the Organizers for the promotions of the Program.
  6. Entries, photographs, and any other material by applicant in relation to the Program, must not contain:
    1. Obscene, pornographic, or sexually-explicit content or information.
    2. Content that is considered offensive to the users, such as those which encourage the commission of an illegal, immoral or threatening activity, promote harassment, racism, hatred or discrimination against any group or individual, or provide information which you know are false, misleading, or harmful to any group or individual.
    3. Content which shows strong support or opposition to any political or religious group or person.
    4. Content which are defamatory or libelous in character or those which violate the privacy of any group or individual.
    5. Content which infringes upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, publication right, or any other intellectual property or proprietary right, or those which promote the infringement of any party’s intellectual property rights.
  7. The Organizers reserve the right to reject without need of explanation, Entries that it deems or finds, in its sole discretion, to be in violation of any of their policies or the terms and conditions in these Mechanics. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website used for the Program, or undermine the legitimate operation of the Program, may be considered a violation of criminal and civil laws. The Organizers reserve the right to seek damages to the fullest extent allowed by laws against such person/s.


  • All Entries will be judged based on completed requirements, design portfolio, and the criteria detailed below, in determining the 16 semi-finalists. The 16 semi-finalists will present 1 existing sewn garment included in their portfolio during orientation. 8 Finalists will then be chosen from the 16 semi-finalists. The Entries presented by the 16 semi-finalists will be judged by the stylecouncil on July 31, 2019*, from 3:00PM to 6:00pm, at B1 The Globe Telecom Tower, 32nd corner 7th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
  • Announcement of the 8 Finalists will be on the same day.
  • Judging will happen during the finalists’ fashion show on November 5, 2019. The Winner will be announced at the end of the show.

  1. The P50,000 cash prize of the two (2) winners and the P10,000 cash prize of the six (6) non-winning finalists may be claimed right after the fashion show.
  2. Collaboration with Zalora for their spring/summer collection.
  3. Collaboration with 0917 for their spring/summer collection.
  4. All non-cash prizes are not transferable and not convertible to cash.
  5. 20% prize tax will be shouldered by the Organizers.
